Founder Bee Shapiro, after covering beauty for over a decade, became pregnant with her daughter Ellis and was living in Brooklyn (hence the brand name Ellis Brooklyn!). Bee found that there were no sophisticated clean options for fragrance available. This inspired her to embark on a journey to redefine perfume in the clean beauty era.

Ellis Brooklyn was officially launched in 2015, driven by a passion for beautifully scented, sustainably sourced fragrances that evoke a sense of well-being and real-life experiences.

Our products are unique in that all of our Eau de Parfums are PETA-Certified, Cruelty-Free, and Vegan. We believe that global standards, which are tested by labs and backed by real science, are the ideal starting point for clean beauty. Our baseline is the European Union rules, which ban more than 1300 ingredients. We also compare with rules in Australia, Japan, and Canada, and any new scientifically backed research that emerges.

Why do we use glass packaging? Plastic packaging can leach, ever so slightly, into beauty products. This is why we use glass as our main packaging vessels and minimize any plastic components.

Each fragrance is thoughtfully crafted from production start to finish. The bottle is composed of glass and can be reused or recycled.
